RIP Miss China//Life

Today we sadly lost China; she was a beautiful and amazing cat. She had a wonderful life and we will miss her presence.

On Making Decisions//Knit Life

You know when sometimes things are just not working out properly? When you have to make decisions but it's a little nervewracking? Well that's where I've been at lately - I have felt very bogged down by just about everything; including my knitting.

So I made some decisions - I have left the socktopus KAL, I will knit socks from the book but in my time and without constraints. I have also stopped doing knit the queue - it's really hard to stick to knitting just the things in my queue right now - I fall in and out of love with patterns quite regularly, thus my queue needs to reflect this!!!

I am sticking with Year of Projects as it's comes into a new year at the beginning of July - this is a projects I've really enjoyed, it's encouraged me to learn BUT to do so at my pace, and the people in the group are all really lovely (and supportive - thanks girlies).

So currently I have 2 main projects on the needles; one project that needs felted and one project in mind - that I might just cast on later. I feel good about my knitting again. Sometimes I get a little dragged under by things!!!

Thanks for all the lovely comments on my last post, it's so nice to know that you are all still reading and still here for me.

Life and Such//Knit Life

I wish this post was telling you that I've been knitting up a storm but in reality I've done very little. Coming home after being in hospital always requires a period of adjustment - usually this means taking everything one day at a time. I will get back to my knitting; and my blog posts will hopefully go back to normal really soon.

In the meantime thank you for being so patient and checking in with me.

Progress???//WIP Wednesday

Can you believe another week is over? It's almost the middle of June - which here means that Birthday Season is about to begin. Kristofer turns 6 on Sunday, our twin nephews (Ben and Jake) are 5 next week,  then I am *whispers* 31 at the very beginning of July. My older sister has a birthday just 3 days after mine and Robbie turns 8 right at the end of July - it's crazy hectic!!! Thankfully I decided to not do birthday knits; I'm loving focusing on some selfish knitting at the moment to be honest. So that leads to my WIP Wednesday........

I've made just a tiny bit of progress on my Sea Turtle socks - why? Because I got super frustrated with the charts - the only charts I've used in my knitting thus far was for OWLs and that is easy to follow. However I have asked on Ravelry (where someone always knows!!) and I know what I'm doing now. These are a knit that I tend to only do when the boys are at school or in bed - it's just a weeny bit too complicated for a simple knit:
So I kind of cast on something else - I do feel kind of bad because Robbie's dinosaur should be getting more attention - but I WILL get that finished sometime soon. So what did I cast on??? Another Hogwarts Express shawl - I loved my first one so much but it wasn't perfect and I decided that the colours in my Zauberball were perfect. So I've cast on with a slightly larger needle to get a nice airy feeling; then I'll go down a 0.5 needle size for the owls and back up to finish off - theoretically it should work but I will be using lifelines just incase!!! It's also a really simple knit, for just watching TV with or knitting while I'm out.
I'm so excited to see what everyone else is working on this week; as always I'm playing along with Tami and Ginny - go stop by their blogs to play along too!!!

And Home//WIP Wednesday

I'm home from the hospital; I got home last Tuesday but obviously I've been trying to get settled back at home - I'm taking things one day at a time right now (so blogging may be sporadic) but today is a good day. Thank you so much for all of the lovely comments; it was really nice to receive the comments here and on Ravelry.

As I said before I have been knitting; I've been working on Robbie's purple dinosaur, Cuddles. So I've worked the body and I'm on the head now - it's a really lovely knit, I've enjoyed doing it and it's kept me going while I was in hospital. I took Robbie to the store to choose some eyes for said dinosaur - you can see them in the photo, they are big and googly so he's happy:
This next 18 months or so I am playing along with the Socktopus KAL; it works out as 3 pairs of socks per 4 months - I think!!! I've started the first pair; they are super cute and I'm really excited. I was planning to work on these last night but my poor book had an accident involving a cat and a glass of juice. It has dried out but I'm not sure it will ever be the same *sob* I've really been overprotective with this book - it's so beautiful.
That's me for today; thanks for stopping by. As usual I am playing along with Tami and Ginny.
